Get your Monday started on the good foot with our Maptime Social on Monday, April 4. We’re joining up with ORURISA’s Young Professionals and GIS In Action attendees for a conference happy hour(s). Doors open at 6:30p and light snacks, pizza, and beers provided. We’ll do quick round of demos and lightning talks starting around 7pm so please contact the organizer(s) if you want a time slot!

Maptime is a literally a time to chat about maps. Whether you’re a beginner getting your bearings with GIS or building apps for the web, Maptime is for anyone and everyone curious about the latest in mapping technologies.

Mapping with Tableau - February Meetup

Join us February 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at WeWork Custom House at 220 NW 8th Ave, Portland, OR.

We will be joining forces with the Tableau User Meetup group this month to talk about mapping in Tableau!

Tableau is business intelligence software that allows anyone to easily connect to data, then visualize and create interactive, sharable dashboards. It’s easy enough that any Excel user can learn it, but powerful enough to satisfy even the most complex analytical problems. Securely sharing your findings with others only takes seconds.

OpenStreetMap 101 - January Meetup

Grant Humphries of Trimet will start your 2016 right with an OpenStreetMap 101 session! Come learn the basics of the “Wikipedia of maps” and get started mapping the places you love.

OpenStreetMap (OSM) is a free, editable map of the whole world that is being built by volunteers largely from scratch and released with an open-content license.

Please bring a computer as this will be a beginner friendly and hands-on Maptime.

Pizza and drinks will be provided by Esri and the space has been provided by WeWork.

Esri Open Source Tools - November Meetup

MaptimePDX is excited to welcome John Gravois from Esri for November’s meetup!

Come and check out some of Esri’s free resources for publishing data, performing spatial analysis and creating websites to share your work.

Get To Know Mapbox Studio

Cartography will never be the same. Mapbox has just released the latest iteration of Studio and it’s making its way to users around the world. We’ll be demoing Studio from styling Mapbox sources based on OpenStreetMap to customizing your own data.

We’ll be covering:

• Map design
• Importing GIS data
• Basic GL technology
• Interacting with your map with Mapbox GL JS
• Mobile tools for GL
